Straight pieces are very easy to pin and applique ... one side of this leaf has been stitched, stuffing has been tucked into the leaf to puff it up, and the last side is ready to be sewed down ... the two 32-inch squares of background fabric now face each other and a square of polyester batting is placed on top of the back panel ready to pin and stitch... a strip of paper or seam tape prevents tears if placed between the polyester fill and sewing machine's pressure foot.
